Maria Chiara Argirò is an Italian-born, London-based pianist, keyboardist and vocalist. Rooted in the UK jazz scene — including her duo work with guitarist Jamie Leeming — her music has gradually opened out into a spellbinding mix of jazz, electronica and art pop, released through Leeds label Innovative Leisure.
"Closer (Acoustic)" strips everything back to her voice and keys, and it stops you straight away. Quiet, patient and completely sure of itself.
